My workout this morning. October starts from today. It's a very comfortable season to run. I was able to run 1km in 5 minutes and 30 seconds on average. Moreover, my split pace was 5 minutes per km. It's amazing! I am not good at taking breaks. They make me feel like I am not doing enough work and am wasting time. This is a lie. A lie we are all telling ourselves! Taking breaks is actually PRODUCTIVE! Breaks fuel us! They keep us going throughout the day. NOT taking breaks is what can cause you to stop being productive. You need to let your brain rest! If you keep going and going around your hamster wheel, you'll burnout. Take it from me! Breaks are important, not only for your mental health and sanity but for your workflow and productivity! Puh, ich merke gerade, dass ich mein Energielevel ganz schön strapaziere. Ich bin sehr begeisterungsfähig und habe so viele Ideen, dass ich jetzt, wo wieder ein bisschen was an Live-Events möglich ist, mich hungrig und vorfreudig draufstürze. 😅⁠ ⁠ Für meine Arbeit ist es essentiell gut da zu sein. Denn nur, wenn ich im Kontakt mit mir bin kann ich meine Impulse wahrnehmen und meine Resonanz zur Verfügung stellen. Auch wenn ich in meinen Seminaren einem Skript, einer Abfolge von Übungen folge, bin ich nicht nur facilitator sondern begleite als Mensch Menschen in ihre Ganzheit.⁠ Aktuell zeigt mir mein System, dass ich mich selbst mehr „füttern“ darf. ; )⁠ ⁠ Wie spüre ich das?⁠ ⁠ Ich habe unglaublich viel Hunger, ein hohes Schlafbedürfnis und spüre ein starkes Bedürfnis nach mehr Raum für „me, myself and I“.⁠ ⁠ Und dieses Bedürfnis gilt es für mich ernst zu nehmen. Also esse ich den großen Teller Pasta, die Tafel Schoki und gehe um 19:30 ins Bett, lege mich mal mittags in die Wanne und gönne mir kurze Meditationen und Tanzeinheiten, wenn die Kids in Schule und Kita sind.⁠ ⁠ Mein Körper belohnt mich direkt: Manchmal weine ich, lache oder atme einfach nur und sitze im Flur auf dem Boden.⁠ Klingt ganz natürlich und einfach? During these unprecedented times, the lines between work and home can easily get blurred, particularly for those of us working from home. While there are many wonderful benefits of working from home, such as seeing our families more and no commute (! ), there are also challenges. It is essential for our mental well being to develop some distinctions between work and home life, here are some helpful tips: 1 ) Make a specific part of your home the “work space” and try to stick to that. By making a physical work space, it helps create that break in our mind set that when we’re out of that work space, we’re on break. This also helps us be more mindful in confining work to the workspace rather than taking our work along everywhere we go. This way you’ll also reduce the amount of snacking you may be doing (given that your work space is hopefully not in the kitchen ). Think out of sight, out of mind. 2 ) Routine and hours are crucial! It is helpful to have the same hours of work each day so that expectations are set. This also helps regulate our sleep and wake times, which also contributes to our mood! 3 ) While the weather may be getting cooler, it is important to get outside and avoid being indoors all of the time. A short brisk walk is beneficial not just to give ourselves a physical break and exercise, but to also support our mental well being and a mental break in routine. Research consistently shows that spending time outdoors in nature contributes to better mood and reduces stress. 4 ) Lastly, it is important to be mindful of how much time we spend on our electronic devices. It’s the invisible load of motherhood.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Even if you have a husband like mine who is happy to help, you often find yourself remembering the tiny details, organizing, planning, scheduling, multi-tasking, compartmentalising, fixing, reminding....all these things happening in your head every hour of the day.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Exhausting, isn’t it?😰⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Today we juggle multiple, complex roles in our lives, including businesswoman, mother, caretaker of elderly relatives, housekeeper, family event planner, wife, partner, friend, educator, and so on.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Find ways to delegate things that don’t have to be done a particular way so you don’t feel the need to follow up and check it off your list. There are some things where done is better than perfect. 😉⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Get your partner and kids involved in things around the house. Lessons that having a baby has taught me that are also applicable for business...⁣ ⁣ (and life )⁣ ⁣ Being a mother is rewarding yet challenging, and it’s nothing like anything I’ve ever done before. Nothing can prepare you for it. But there are a few lessons I’ve learnt along the way that are relevant for business (and general life ) too! ⬇️⁣ ⁣ 🌸 Ask for support ⁣ ⁣ I’m someone that always tries to do things alone, particularly outside of my business, and hate asking for help. But boy has having a baby opened me up to asking for support when I need it. ⁣ ⁣ Moral of the story: don’t be afraid to ask for support when you need it 👏🏻 ⁣ ⁣ 🌸 Do things that make you feel like you⁣ ⁣ We can get so wrapped up in what we need to do for others in our life that we can easily forget about ourselves. Often the things we say we are doing for us, end up just being things that feel like chores and aren’t actually fun for us. (Like getting my hair done 😫 so boring ) ⁣ ⁣ So I’m making a conscious effort when I can and have someone to watch Amarii, to do things for me that I actually ENJOY. 🙋🏼‍♀️⁣ ⁣ Whether it’s sitting in a cafe for an hour working, going to the gym, spending time with friends... I’m doing more for me! 💁🏼‍♀️⁣ ⁣ What’s the biggest life lesson you’ve learnt this year? 💫

Are you thinking about hiring an OBM or Integrator for your business? ✔️ Great!!! Your business will soar. But let me first set some expectations and make clear what an OBM/Integrator is and is not. 1. An OBM is not a tech VA. 2. An OBM is not a content creator. 3. An OBM is not client facing. 4. An OBM is not the CEO. An OBM/Integrator is the one responsible for systems and operations, planning and organisation.⚡ That means that you need at least one team member to help you implement (a general VA, a tech VA, or a personal assistant, depending on what you want to oursource ). An OBM can't take over your entire business. As the CEO & owner, you still need to be involved in your business. The OBM is the one making sure your visions come to life, but they are not the visionary. You are. And they are not the ones coming up with a new program, creating content or serving clients. That's your job. So, if you are overwhelmed and ready for support, ask yourself, who do you really need? Someone to create copy and manage your socials? Hire a copywriter or social media manager. Someone to repeatedly set up your existing tech tools? Hire a tech VA. But if you need someone to organise your business, create systems and set up new tech or migrate to another tool, plan and manage projects like launches, and to strategize with? You are definitely ready for an OBM! ✔️

Hard work does not equal effective (or efficient ) work. One key to effective work: self-care ✨ Working hard is often perceived as a positive. And it is, to an extent, but we can only continue working effectively if we remind ourselves to take breaks, to refresh the mind and body. Working long, hard hours constantly most often leads to burnout, and is often not the most effective use of our time. With no where to go during this time, and a cancelled vacation, it had been way too long since I’d taken time away from work, and I was reaching that point of burnout. Even a day away, spending time doing things I enjoy, slowing down, and relaxing, allowed me to come back to work feeling more refreshed and prepared for the week ahead. Sometimes it can feel like we need a picture perfect self care routine for it to be worthwhile (and I recognize this is comical as I’m sharing a photo with this message ). But, this is what self care looks like for me. It may look very different for you, and that’s okay! Whatever your method of slowing down and hitting refresh is, take time to do that. We need time away to show up as the best, most authentic version of ourselves. We live in an age where career burnout is huge, especially among early career individuals. But this also applies in so many other areas of life as well - as a spouse, friend, parent, etc. Learn to understand what you need to be most effective in whatever facet of your life, and prioritize that. Shadow Work Sunday⁠ *⁠ This week's Shadow Work theme is surrounding #Courage , #Adventure , and being #Passionate about your personal and work life.⁠ *⁠ Shadow Work is the process of diving in to the unconscious aspects of our personality and exploring why we have shoved those aspects down in to the shadows. It is not good or bad. Light and dark simply exist and we have to acknowledge both in order to grow and heal. When I set up my first round of interviews in 2018, I had no intention of leaving my job. Zero🤭 - Tbh, I just wanted a free trip back home to ATL to hang with my frans and to stay in fancy hotels💃🏽 - I thought I’d scope out what the DISTANT future could look like. What kinda work life I COULD be looking at. And what those down south legal salaries were twerkin with👀 - I told my recruiter that I didn’t even want to put “real places I’d consider” on this first round list and would save those real firms for when I was more serious down the line. - But you know what happened? - I met amazing law firm partners who lived a life a lot closer to what I imagined for myself. Who had interests and backgrounds and sleep schedules more similar to mine😂 Almost every firm I visited were people with balance. A lot more than where I was coming from. - I ended up accepting one of those “not real” offers. I surprised my damn self, y’all. But the lesson? - 🗣Schedule the interview!! Send your resume!! Call the freaking recruiter back, sis!! - Stop waiting until you’re at your absolute breaking point to make a move. Stop holding out for one more bonus or one more year before you make a change. - The happiness I felt from that $80k bonus hitting my acct lasted about 15 mins😔 The happiness I feel from shifting my life in a direction better suited for me hasn’t worn off since...

Creativity in any form is the same. Conscious and perpetually seeking approval. Whatever it is that you do, as a creator, you submit a part of yourself to your audience in which you feel ever so vulnerable about your being and your craft. It is a part of your personality; the way you think, eat, breathe, sleep, live, exist. Naturally then, disapproval of your craft feels like the other person denying a part of who you are. When your art and your work are the same, there is no such thing as professional versus personal life. I NEEDED to know. ⁣⁠⁣⁠ ⁣⁠⁣⁠ From the minute the plus sign appeared on my pregnancy test, I NEEDED to know the gender. ⁣⁠⁣⁠ ⁣⁠⁣⁠ No, this wasn't like an impatient, can't wait to see if it's a boy or girl sort of thing. ⁣⁠⁣⁠ ⁣⁠⁣⁠ 𝐋𝐞𝐦𝐦𝐞 𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐤 𝐢𝐭 𝐝𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐲𝐨𝐮: We have a 3 bedroom house. Outside of the master bedroom, the two other rooms are occupied by my step-daughter and son. So, the gender determined who was going to end up sharing a room. ⁣⁠⁣⁠ ⁣⁠⁣⁠ My Type A, uber-organized personality was READY to get these rooms situated by 20 weeks pregnant.⁣⁠⁣⁠ ⁣⁠⁣⁠ Spoiler alert: it's a boy. So the two youngest are sharing. Please send prayers. And wine. ⁣⁠⁣⁠ ⁣⁠⁣⁠ I'm curious, did you let it be a surprise, or did you NEED to know? ⁣⁠⁣⁠
