Women have spent many years in the struggle boat, juggling a career and carrying the larger burden of the household and childcare responsibilities. . . While this still may be true in many cases, a growing number of households are dual-income, with both parents working. . . It can be VERY difficult and taxing. It’s easy to let your health & wellness fall to the bottom of the list. . . Focus on the simplest changes to keep yourself sane! . . Coffee ☕️ is great...but up the water 💦 intake! . A quick brisk walk during stressful times at work can help you reset to a clear head. . Keep the fridge stocked with quick-grab healthy snacks! . If you need some help putting your health in the spotlight while also keeping up with your kids and career, DM me. Together, we can make it happen! . . #workingfromhome #workingmom #workingparent #workingparents #healthyparents #healthyfamily #familybalance #prioritizehealth #feelbetterlivemore #morecoffeeplease #parentsatwork #lifeonpurpose #choosebetter

*LINK IN BIO* I am so excited to share this with you all! I am moderating a panel with @womeninfilmla on being working mom in the industry. Whether you are a parent/child caregiver, expecting mother, or thinking about joining the club, we hope this discussion uplifts and empowers you in your path. . I proposed this event as a result of an unpleasant experience early in my parenting journey. Don’t worry, I’m doing great : ) But it did reveal the need for more discussion and action, because unfortunately the myth still persists that a career and a family are mutually exclusive in our industry. . I am grateful to our rockstar panelists proving that myth wrong for generously offering to share their perspective, and to Women in Film for enthusiastically putting so much energy and time into making this event a reality. . It is open to the public - you do NOT need to be a WIF member to join in! And while it is specifically geared towards those with careers in entertainment, you can certainly join even if that’s not you. . Please click the link in my bio for more info and to register, as well as a small blurb by me about what inspired it and what we are hoping to cover. Please feel free to share!

I've really enjoyed sharing my Start-Up Stories blog series with you. So many of my clients come to work with me because they want to change direction and need help to get unstuck. By sharing other women's journey to starting their businesses I hope you come away feeling inspired that you can do it too! This weeks Start-Up Stories focuses on Sam from @ceceandmelondon . "I'm Sam I live in Southfields, a lovely family-friendly area in South West London, with my husband and two daughters, Cecily and Meredith, who are now 9 and 7 years old. My business journey began after I had Meredith and decided not to return to work. I knew I wanted to work for myself, so that I could fit working around family life, but didn’t have a clear vision of how I was going to achieve this! Inspiration struck during a particularly frustrating trip to buy new shoes for my then-toddler. There was nothing enjoyable about shoe shopping for them and soon discovered I wasn’t alone in feeling this way! I started training as a shoe fitter and began working on my business idea for a mobile children’s shoe fitting service, which I eventually named CeCe & Me, after my daughters." To read more of Sam's fascinating story head to the link in my bio. Also please do share the love and head over to @ceceandmelondon and engage with her content. #womensupportingwomen

Friday is most definitely my favourite day of the week🧡 ————————— Another working week completed and I feel absolutely shattered, being a mum and working part time definitely has its challenges but it’s also so rewarding! —————————— This mama has a child free night and I intend to make most of the peace and quiet, light my gingerbread candles, have a hot bath, pour myself a gin, order a chinese and just chill out, what a perfect Friday night in🍂🍁🧡

The littles third birthday trip to the zoo yesterday! When I set up this account I was going to keep it just ‘bizniz’ and not wang on about my son (I have a private account for that ), but I realised that he is actually a big part of how and why and when I do what I do. To not acknowledge it would be a disservice to other working parents and I think the workplace would be a lot healthier if we felt more able to work flexibly and discuss the responsibilities we have to people we care for (old and young! ). I’m also so thankful to be able to take time out this week to do birthday things, even if at one point yesterday I did wonder if maybe I could just leave him with the lions for a couple of hours...😬 So happy birthday to the boy - my proudest achievement to date, and the reason why I now look like a tired old shoe. #workingmum #littlebean #workingparent #womeninfilm #triptothezoo #mumlife #toddlerinthewild

This is something I’m really pants at. Always have been. I love to plan but I thrive under pressure and right now, work wise especially, we’re under it. Big time. Balancing work and home is even more precarious and when something unexpected upsets that balance, it can all spin out of whack. It’s so so important to always leave a decent bit of room for error. I, and pretty bloody awful at it. Right now especially, any client enquiry is jumped on, any potential pitch is chased, every old contact is followed up with and live campaigns are given more attention than a newborn with sleep apnea. This all means a lot of extra work and headspace. I’ve been working late A LOT this month (which I don’t mind it really as I count myself lucky that my business is doing ok when so many others aren’t. ) Anyway, I digress. What happens when something unexpected happens? I’m not talking CoVid as that’s something no one was prepared for. I mean a poorly kid when you’ve got a hard deadline, a cancelled train when you're already cutting it fine to get to a big pitch after dropping the kids at school... I find I need to leave way more room for error since having kids. My rare, desperately needed office day was canned today as I woke up with a horrid eye infection and can’t look at a screen for long. I was going to work into the wee hours again last night but thought ‘feck it, I’ll do it tomorrow ). Kicking myself a bit. I should have got a head start last night and left myself some bleeding room for error! . . . . #roomforerror #fuckup #planning #timemanagement #workingmum #workingmum #workingmummy #mumlifeuk #mumlife #workingparent #mumboss #momboss #smallbizmum #roomforerror multitasking #smallbusiness #entrepreneurlife #entrepreneur #leadership #ukbiz #womeninbiz #smallbizsquad #bigfanofsmallbiz

A little motivation for myself. We are in the midst of a huge push this month to launch a satellite brand. I'm on day who knows how many of work without a day off and having been working like crazy to draft content for the new website, develop processes and procedures, and refine pricing structures. Chris and I started noodling around with this idea last spring and we were half working on it around client work, but at the end of August I told him that it was only going to happen if we have a real focus session. So this month, we dedicated our entire team to work on launching the new brand (doing incredibly minimal client work ). It's been a huge investment of capital and people power and I feel like I'm running on fumes preparing to launch in less than 7 days, but it will (I hope ) all be worth it if we just keep pushing to the finish line.

This here? These are my people. My unit. My family. We are all smiles in this picture because often times there is so much to smile about. These ridiculous tiny humans of ours who make us chuckle and put life in perspective. There are picture perfect days like this and there are difficult days. Often not gracing your Instagram feed are the days not captured on the camera roll. The sleepless nights. The work stresses. The doctors visits. 😷 In any other environment these stressors can be overwhelming - but in the middle of a global pandemic they can be downright debilitating. Today I read that 54% of mothers say that Covid is having a negative impact on their mental health. I scoured the internet trying to find the source but no luck. This statistic doesn’t surprise me one bit. Candidly, I thought it would be higher. I share this because I want you all to know you aren’t alone if you are feeling this way. The number one thing I do to help combat how I’m feeling is to talk about it. 🗣 To my family, friends, and coworkers ... and all of you here. If my candor helps one mom, dad or caregiver feel less alone, then this mama is happy. ❤️ Here’s hoping for better days ahead - for all 100% of us! 📸 : @sarasnidermanphotography

About 2 1/2 years ago, I decided to start using social media to document my adventures as a working mom. 👩🏼‍💻I was feeling particularly lonely in my journey, where on social media I seemed to only find success stories🥇or picture perfect 🖼 moments. Where were the meltdowns, struggles and pictures of kiddos with food smeared grins in hand me down Carters outfits? Where were the real, tangible tips or ideas to help average, time constrained parents get through the day? Since then, I’ve done my best to share the good, bad and the ugly on here. I’ve been a relatively open book 📖 about all of the wonderful moments as well as ongoing challenges of being a working mom to three tiny humans under the age of five. I can’t believe this week I hit 10K followers. 🤯 I love sharing our family adventures, tips, recipes and quotes. I often visualize each of you on the other “end of the phone”, scrolling through Instagram during those rare moments of solitude - a reminder that others beyond the four walls of your home are going through what you are. You are my important, virtual extended network of moms, dads and caregivers. I like to think I have made a few of you chuckle with some relatable memes ... made dinner for your family that much easier once or twice with a meal idea ... or made you feel “seen” from one of my honest posts. At the end of the day, I created this account so people like me wouldn’t feel so alone. So here I am! And here’s where I will be ... continuing to document 🖊the “fun chaos”. Thanks for coming along for the ride! Love, Erin ... In case you needed to hear this today: you’re allowed to rest. ⠀ ⠀ Did you know that if you’ve been working from home since March, you’re likely working 10-20% more than you did before? And you may have been working more while ALSO: ⠀ ⠀ *learning how to work in a whole new way⠀ *caring full-time for children or elders⠀ *dealing with grief or anxiety⠀ *recovering from illness⠀ *doing more house maintenance than usual⠀ *suffering financial or relationship stress⠀ ⠀ At the start of the pandemic, I heard people say, “Maybe this will be the end of the cult of ‘busy-ness.’” You know - that with fewer social obligations or trips to take, maybe we’d relax more? ⠀ ⠀ Well...wherever we go, there we are 😉 and it seems we’ve taken our workaholic tendencies back with us, from the skyscrapers to the home office. ⠀ ⠀ I’m your negotiation coach. I help people like you, all over the world, negotiate for more of what they need - whether at work or home. So this post is your reminder that sometimes, asking for more means asking for more rest. ⠀ ⠀ When we rest, not only do we preserve our health, body and mind, but we refresh ourselves for the next leg of this journey we’re on. When you rest, you charge up your mind to do your best work. When you rest, you can be more present for the people in your life. ⠀ ⠀ And when you rest...you are NO LESS VALUABLE than the people who appear to be working 24-7, or inventing endless enrichment activities for their children, or color-coding their kitchen pantry. The truth is, 2020 is a marathon and everyone is coping the best they can. ⠀ ⠀ So whatever rest looks like for you - a book, a nap, binge-watching trash TV (ahem,🌹 ) or cooking a glorious meal - do that. Enjoy it without guilt. Taking care of yourself IS the ultimate act of asking for more.

I took last weekend off. And felt guilty. So a reminder to us all: we’re allowed to feel tired right now, and we’re allowed to rest. Remember...⠀ ⠀ ⭐️ We are living through one of the most challenging times of our lives. All of that challenge and uncertainty runs in the background of everything we do. It saps energy. Ever get through your day and then collapse because something small breaks around the house? We’re all there. That means you need rest - maybe more than you’re used to. ⠀ ⠀ ⭐️ Even if you have it “easy,” life is still uncertain and different and hard right now. You can be grateful for what you have and still give yourself grace. You are still worthy of care and rest. ⠀ ⠀ ⭐️ Some of the work we do is invisible. We spend an hour paying bills. We coach our child through a social challenge. We organize the homeschooling space. These things don’t make us money. But all of it is still work. ⠀ ⠀ ⭐️ Your worth does not depend on how busy you are. You are a valuable person regardless of your “output.” Know that you can rest and care for yourself and that makes you no less worthy or wonderful than the person who worked all weekend. ⠀ ⠀ Speaking of which...This is a picture from last weekend. I took the whole weekend off. I felt guilty. And yet I desperately needed the rest and space and time. It replenished me for the week ahead. It helped me be more present for my family, students and clients. ⠀ ⠀ When you rest, it helps everyone around you. But even if it didn’t - you’re still entitled to rest and care. Give it to yourself this weekend. ⠀ ⠀ What would it look like if you took some space to care for yourself right now? #askformore ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀

Pandemic Benefits🙌🏻🙌🏻 - the past few months have been filled with anxiety and worry. But I’m all honesty, it’s been SO AMAZING for our family ❤️❤️🥰 We have been able to spend time together that we wouldn’t otherwise have had. With me working from home and Nick taking a few months to work for himself, we have had so much more flexibility and freedom. We can sleep a little later in the morning and, even better, spend more time with Indie in the morning before daycare. We are not in a rush! These days have been so special. . . A few months ago when the world was still normal, we would rush off to work in the morning with no time together. Then, at the end of the day we would rush back home to get Indie and she would be tired and cranky because it’s almost bedtime for her. Now we can take our time in the morning because I am not commuting and Nick has flexibility with his work. We can lay in bed for almost an extra hour and cuddle (lol she hates cuddling. More like keep her from jumping off the bed ) our baby! . . This new way of life (though I know it’s not permanent ) has been such a blessing. Yes, we have feared for our health, struggled to work from home with a baby (when we pulled her from daycare ), and worried for our jobs. But at the end of the day, we also had something really positive and beautiful come out of this ❤️ . . . #quarantinebenefits #quarantinedays #quarantinediaries #pandemicbaby #pandemicparenting #workingparent #workingparents #workfromhome #workfromhomelife #pandemicpositivity #covidparenting #slowdownandbreathe #takeyourtime #workingmoms #workingmomlife #workingmommy #workingmomproblems #workfromhomemama #workfromhomewithkids #oneyearold #12monthsold #denvermomblogger #denvermomblog #denvermoms
