One of my favorite ways to take care of myself is to stay active. I was active in my youth as a gymnast and cheerleader, and then throughout college cheerleading and a fun year with NCA. However, it became harder to stay motivated as an adult. After my second child, I asked my husband to show me how to properly lift weights - and my fitness has just progressed from there! What I’ve learned from fitness is that it shifts your mindset. I went from wanting to get in shape and look a little better after having two babies, to wanting to push myself in new ways to see what my body is capable of. I’m now more concerned with what my body can do as opposed to how it looks, and it is absolutely freeing 🦄 Being active doesn’t and shouldn’t look the same for everyone. It might be a walk, a run, a trip to the gym, putting on a workout video at home, doing housework/yardwork, etc. Oh - and we will all fall off the wagon at some point, but you just move forward, put one step in front of the other, and start again. Thanks to @vieathletics for being a big part of my fitness journey. Today was my first day back in a while and it felt so good to be back! One of our managers at work recently showed us an amazing quote. This manager taught me a lot when I first started in the fitness department and I still often go to him for advice by the way. "You will never always be motivated. So you have to learn to be disciplined". 💣💣💣 So how can this be applied to training when you're just not feeling it? Not motivated to do weights? Do a Boxing class instead. 🥊 Too tired to do a Grid class or your own HIIT program? Do a yoga or Pilates class instead. 🧘‍♀️ Not even motivated to do ANYTHING gym related? Plug in your favourite tunes and go for a walk outside instead. Or grab a friend and go for a walk together. 👭 Not motivated to do your usual Bay Run/Spit to Manly/Coogee to Bondi coastal walk/run? (These are bloody long routes too 🤣 ) Grab some friends/family together and kick a soccer ball around the park ⚽️ Not motivated to cook your dinner? Grab something that you know will only take 15 minutes tops to make. Training while traveling these days can be difficult! Between having to make appointments to use the hotel gym, time limits on workouts and to limited equipment it’s important to plan ahead so you can stay on target. Thanks to @borgperformancetraining , we discussed my goals and equipment availability ahead of time and came up with a plan. I packed a mini gym in my suitcase consisting of a small Brute Force Sandbag, multiple bands and Fat Gripz and then purchased rice to fill my sandbag upon arrival (I can now donate it to the work food drive! ). Because of this I was able to get in some killer workouts this week and am even more motivated to dive in hard to my training when I get back home. 👍 I usually use my travel weeks to focus on rest and mobility but this has been fun and has also given me a “no excuses” way to travel in the future. 👏 Do you have any travel workout tips to stay on track during these crazy times? Throwback to the favorite show of this year. Thank you @joe_pishkula for putting on @klash_championship_series for all competitors during this crazy time. Everyone was safe, and the show ran smoothly. Since my season is over, I’d like to highlight a few things that I was able to overcome during prep. -gyms were closed in March, and instead of freaking out for quitting, I bought water gallon jugs, resistance bands, and cement (to mold dumbbells, but never made them 😂 ) -April, reached out to @growthfactory1 and @john_anderson318 to workout. Thank you for allowing me to bug you both everyday to lift 😂 -June, Spring semester ended. Going to lecture in basketball shorts on Zoom was definitely one of the highlights during prep 😆 -August, competed, and Fall semester started the same week as peak week 🙃 -September, competed again, and now going into my second off season. Found out a family member of mine was sick 2 weeks out from my second show. Not everyone can say that they’ve prepped through Covid. Thank you @jazzyfresh .ifbbpro and @ryanhinton for pushing me through this season. It’ll be even better next season 🙌 #teamlegacy

💪🏼No my arms don’t look like this 24/7. Although I’ve been doing this for years, I’m always amazing at how the human body can change. A built physique is SO much more than than just how you look... It reflects how hard you worked for it . No money can buy it . You can’t inherit it . It shows dedication . It shows discipline . It shows self respect . It shows dignity . It shows passion I think most of us battle body image & insecurities. & that’s okay. & if you don’t, that’s great! But if one thing is for sure, I am confident in my own skin. I’ve accepted the fact that I will never be satisfied and always strive for more. I think it’s human nature to strive for progress— to be better. BUT there’s a difference between wanting to be better because someone else wants you to be & wanting to be better because YOU DESERVE the absolute best. The moment I found my confidence was the moment I knew I wanted to help others find theirs. I’m here to support you in whatever that journey may be.
