🍪DAIRY FREE BANANA AND RASPBERRY PROTEIN COOKIES🍪🍌 Serves - 7 Calories - approx 105 per cookie Protein - approx 6g per cookie Ingredients: ✨30g protein powder ✨2tbsp honey ✨1tbsp fry light ✨30g raspberries ✨1 ripe banana ✨100g protein quick oats Method: 1. Preheat your oven to 170° Celsius 2. Mash your banana and raspberries together in a bowl 3. Add the oats, honey, fry light and protein powder and mix till all combined 4. Leave the mixture to rest for 15 - 20 mins so that the oats can absorb the moisture from the other ingredients 5. Take a tbsp of the mixture and place it onto a baking tray and flatten it down till it’s about 1cm thick (you should be able to do this 7 times to make 7 cookies ) 6. Place in the oven and cook for 15 minutes 7. Banana Bread 🤩 - I love a good baking session and after watching Bake Off last night, I have a bit of a list of things I am looking to bake over the coming weeks 🤩🙌🏻 ⠀ Today’s bake was banana bread, this is one that I always struggle with getting to rise properly but I’ve come to the conclusion that the tin is too big for the mixture as I’m the only one in the house that will eat it so I don’t need to make a large one 😂 so quick and easy to make so I could do this on my lunch break at work to pop into the oven when I went back to work 🥳 ⠀ This works out at 78 calories per slice using the following recipe: 🔸 mash 2 bananas in a bowl, add 40g light brown sugar and a medium egg to mix together. 🔸add a tsp of ground cinnamon and mix in to the banana mixture 🔸 in a separate bowl mix 90g Self raising flour, half a tsp of salt, tsp baking powder and 4g of granulated sweetner 🔸 add this to the banana mixture and mix well. Add 28g light butter into the mix as well. 🔸bake in the oven 200 degrees for 30 mins or until cooked all the way through. Working on myself has been one of the best decisions I have ever made. I always struggled to find something to wear or didn’t feel comfortable in my own skin. I stopped the excuse and with the support of my husband and close friends I kept pushing. Talking to them about my little accomplishments helped me a lot. I saw the number drop on the scale and wanted more and more. It’s not always easy being consistent and disciplined but it sure is worth it. The Truth about DETOX Diets Detox diets - we’ve all heard of them. Most of us have done one, or maybe a few! The lemon-cayenne pepper detox is probably the originator of them all. I know I did it for 3 days myself back in college. I went in like most do, thinking it’s the way to jump start my weight loss journey and get on track. And yes, to a degree it did just that. But the second I made it through those 3 days and 5lbs down, I chowed down on some pizza. By the next morning, I was at 2lbs less then my weight before I started the diet. I’m sure you’ve all experienced this. A moment of “YES! I did it!” followed by disappointment.  This is normal, because it is a DETOX. That means it’s purpose is not to get rid of fat, but rather to cleanse, and rid your body of disease-causing toxins. If you are not taking in solid food, then you will certainly lose weight. There is literally less mass inside your body and therefore, you will weigh less. That’s just logic. Instead of focusing on the scale as the indicator of success in your detox, pay attention to the way you feel. Do you feel lighter? Do you feel less bloated? Do you feel more energetic? These are the questions you should be asking. And from there you can start fresh with your nutrition and overall eating habits. If you are trying to drop fat and increase your overall health then you should be using your detox as a tool in order to clear your body and intestines of unwanted junk, and use that as a springboard into eating like you should be eating all the time: eating clean proteins and veggies.  You may not like this saying, but what I tell all my clients is, “If you can grow it or if you can kill it, then you can eat it.” It’s as simple as that.  Check out my last blog about My Essential Liquids (my “I can’t live without these” liquids at htphysique.com ASK AND YOU SHALL RECEIVE!! I done fucked up!! 👇👇 Have you had an injury that caused pain when working out? What did you do in order to be able to keep working out or did you take a break? Here's my 3 tips in order to succeed no matter what. So if you've experienced an injury you shouldn't stop going to the gym but what you should do is find a way to keep staying on track. I recently tweaked my shoulder and I've been having a hard time getting a past 90°. So this is what I did. 1. I started mobilizing the tissue to allow myself to heal and get more blood to the area. 2. I started working in a pain-free range of motion focussing on activating the muscle to alleviate any stress. 3. I'm modified my exercises so I don't have to stop working out. What is all this mean you might ask well I'm going to tell you. I'm struggling with my range of motion moving without pain and so what that means is we need to start actually healing the tissue. So mobilization The tissue ie rolling dynamic stretching and rehab/prehab will help to start the repair. Moving in a pain free range of motion will allow you to activate the muscles so it can take over the movement versus relying on wherever the pain is. because the mind is going to go to the pain as it has the most neurological receptors to that area. then when you modify an exercise make sure you don't cut that muscle group out but you shorten the range of motion required and lessen the weight. this will allow your body to actually start the healing process without regressing. Now how do you do that well it all depends on what muscle group or joint is causing you pain. So if you're in this case let me know and that way I can give you specific information as is not enough space on this to tell you haha. Should you stop exercising chances are no. Should you take a rest day well it all depends on where and what the pain is doing to you. I walked on plantar fasciitis for 2 years where it felt like my foot was getting cut off. it slowed me down but I never stopped.
