Here's why I switched to kotlin last year and haven't looked back since! ✔️ I've been into android development for four years now👨‍💻. For the first 3 years I used java because why not? I already had a good understanding of java and resources were so easily available in it.💯 But last year I switched to kotlin. Why?🤔 First, I like change in life🤞. Second, everyone already using java have to admit that it's pretty old. The modern day languages like js and go make code more easy to write and ofcourse more readable. And third, I had a project in my internship which was on kotlin 😅. So I switched to kotlin, and trust me this shift was the easiest and the best thing I did with my android development. Life has been so easy with all that extra code that I don't have to type anymore. I'm not going back (until the client wants it obviously 🤣 ) . Any java lovers? Convince me in the comments below to use java (if you can ) 🤗 Follow @coder .vk for more tech stuff and memes 📣 #itsetup @itsetup #codecollect #lovecoders @lovecoders #peoplewhocode @peoplewhocode #developerspace @d_dev_guys #d_dev_guys #coderalbum #programming #codepeople @codepeople #coder #coding #developer #android #followforfollowback #programmerslife #peoplewithcodes @peoplewithcodes #kotlin #java #git #codeforcause

I learnt JavaScript (JS ) by working with data visualisation libraries. The same development processes that are used to manipulate the Domain Object Model (DOM ) to interactively display and change large datasets, they are the same processes that are applied by significantly more sophisticated frameworks like React and Vue to build entire applications. And once you start to appreciate the powers that JS provides for DOM manipulation, the easier it will become to understand how to use JS and what you can use it for. Recently I’ve been getting back into data visualisation as I’m implementing a map search to my travel platform project. Uber have a full suite of open source data visualisation frameworks that can be quickly implemented with React to create some really sophisticated geo dashboards, and that’s what I’m hoping to achieve with my map search. How did you learn JavaScript? 📸 Credit @danbatedev #codepeople #developer #programmers #programmerslife #codinglife #coders #coderlife #developerlifestyle #developerlife #techies #dev #developers #webdev #webdevelopers #softwaredeveloper #programmers #codinglife #developer #codergirl #coderpower #coderedlifestyle #girlcoder #coderlifestyle #creativecoding #codingislife #codingproblems #htmlcoding

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗡𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗧𝗼𝗽𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆❓ Network topology refers to how various nodes, devices, and connections on your network are physically or logically arranged in relation to each other. Think of your network as a city, and the topology as the road map. Just as there are many ways to arrange and maintain a city—such as making sure the avenues and boulevards can facilitate passage between the parts of town getting the most traffic—there are several ways to arrange a network. There are two approaches to network topology: 𝗽𝗵𝘆𝘀𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 and 𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹. Physical network topology, as the name suggests, refers to the physical connections and interconnections between nodes and the network—the wires, cables, and so forth. Logical network topology is a little more abstract and strategic, referring to the conceptual understanding of how and why the network is arranged the way it is, and how data moves through it. 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗡𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗧𝗼𝗽𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁❓ The layout of your network is important for several reasons. Above all, it plays an essential role in how and how well your network functions. Choosing the right topology for your model can increase performance while making it easier to locate faults, troubleshoot errors, and more effectively allocate resources across the network to ensure optimal network health. A streamlined and properly managed network topology can increase energy and data efficiency, which can in turn help to reduce operational and maintenance costs.

Why do programmers want to work on a big corporation such as Facebook, Microsoft, Amazon, etc.?
Today I won’t answer, I just don’t know. I don’t understand what’s particularly exciting about working for these giants than other companies that provide similar benefits.
Paychecks? I don’t think so. The market is quite competitive, and other companies adjust to the salary level.
Working with the best professionals side by side? There are lots of programming gurus that don’t work at Google or Booking.
The big name in the CV? What is the actual value of it except for making your mom proud of you?
  Would you like to work for a big brand? 😉 . . . #programmersday #peoplewhocode #programmerslife #coderlife #codecollect #lovecoders #codeworldofficial #codepeople #developerspace #d_dev_guys #codingdays #softwaredevelopers #developerlife #developers #developerslife #developerdiaries #reactjs #vuejs #java #dotnet #javascript #careermotivation #developerjobs

🔥 THE ULTIMATE FRONT-END DEVELOPER GUIDE 2020 - 1 🔥⁣ ⁣ Yo! What’s going on guys? Hope everyone’s having a good start for the a new week. ✅ Who’s a Front-End Developer?⁣ ⁣ ➡ A Front-end Developer is the person who works on the front-end of a website/application, he’s responsible for all the visual stuff. He has a great responsibility to create better UI and UX (User Experience ).⁣ ⁣ ✅ 1. The Fundamentals (Step 1 )⁣ ⁣ ➡ HTML, CSS, JavaScript are the basics to start a career as a Front-end developer, mastering the fundamentals is essential to move forward. I have listed all that you need to know in the carousels to move forward to the next step.⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ✅ 2. CSS Preprocessors (Step 2 )⁣ ⁣ ➡ CSS Preprocessors are like a powerup for basic CSS, they add more features/functionalities like using Variables, Nesting, Functions, etc, inside CSS. Some popular preprocessors are SASS, LESS, and Stylus. SASS is the best to begin with once you’ve learned the fundamentals.⁣ ⁣ ✅ 3. CSS Frameworks (Step 3 )⁣ ⁣ ➡ CSS Frameworks helps you speed up the design and development process, they have built-in designs for almost every HTML Elements, what you’ve got to do is just link them inside your project and you’re good to go. The most popular CSS Framework is Bootstrap, other than that there are some more like Bulma, Materialize, etc.⁣ ⁣ ❓ Do you know that a Front-end Developer makes an average of $76K per year! ❓⁣ ⁣ What do you’ll think of today’s post? #Repost @lodestardev • • • • • • 📸 Picture day ———————————————————— Happy Saturday everyone! I’ll be spending most of the morning taking pictures for the week and editing them! I’m really trying to branch out and get more creative with my shots, but I’ve hit a bit of a brain block. So, at the moment I’m just standing here by my tripod waiting for a creative thought to jump into my mind lol. I think the most interesting pictures I see on Instagram are the ones that make you stop scrolling and just stare. Whether it be due to beautiful color grading or some crazy angle, either way it catches your eye and makes you take a moment. My goal is to make all my photos eventually force people to stop and take a moment. Obviously at the moment I’m still in the trial and error phase, but I hope at some point down the road I can get more consistent with my show stopping pics. That’s just a little peak into my mind this morning! For now it’s back to rearranging the whole room until I find something I like. I hope you have a great Sunday! 🚛 My first time using a CMS ———————————————————— Lately, I’ve been working on a little passion project building an e-commerce site. I’ve challenged myself to do the entire stack, from front end CSS to the database. I want to do every piece in order to learn as much as possible. However, after spending hours and hours on Saturday building out the beginning stages of my Firebase database/backend I thought that there had to a better way to manage everything. I knew once I started adding more products it would get way out of control. So I started doing research and I found exactly what I needed — a CMS or content management system. If you haven’t used a CMS before you’re probably in the same boat I was the other day. I had heard of them, but just didn’t really see the use/didn’t know how to use it properly. After going through a quick tutorial on setting up the CMS on the providers site, I was able to integrate it to a react app in a matter of minutes. All the products I had created online were showing up on the small practice website I had made. Literally, what had taken me about 6 hours before to do with my database, took 20 minutes with CMS. A CMS might not be the answer to all your problems and I know that I need to do a lot more research into it before fully integrating it into my e-commerce site. But, if you’re like me and you’re working on a project that’s going to have inventory or a lot of data entries, it might be worth checking out a CMS to help you manage everything! Have you ever used a CMS? Let me know in the comments below! ⤵️ ⏱ Day 27 • • What do you think❓ Rate 1 - 10🔥 Follow @itsetup for more😉 • • • ——————————————— To see more cool coding content: Follow: @itsetup 👍 • Don’t forget to check out: Creditor page: @lodestardev 🤝 • If you have great post: Tag @itsetup for repost 💪 ——————————————— • • • #codinglife #computerscience #setup #programming #code #webdevelopment #dev #development   #software #programmer #100daysofcode #worldcode #codeismylife #coder #codepeople #programmerlife #lovecoding #dreamsetup #mysetup #coding #developer #web #geeklife #программирование #workstation

Hey peeps, hope you’re having a great day. Today we gonna be talking about dark mode. You will find some html and css in this. light Indicates that user has notified the system that they prefer an interface that has a light theme, or has not expressed an active preference. dark Indicates that user has notified the system that they prefer an interface that has a dark theme. The prefers-color-scheme CSS media feature is used to detect if the user has requested the system use a light or dark color theme. So basically depending on the settings this will work eventually. This require no toggle button whatsoever. Do you want me to work on a toggle button for that? Maybe using react? How to quickly switch from one project to another?
2 weeks ago, I switched to the new project. Working on a single project for some time gives me a feeling of comfort and safety. But I was not growing in the direction I'd like to fulfill my ambitions.
I used to quickly fix any bug and have an exact idea of where and how to implement any feature on my previous project. And then I was not comfortable with the feeling that I have no idea where to start.
But there's something that always helps to have a grasp on what's going on in the code. It's testing. Unit, integration, visual. Any kinds of tests.
To write a good test, you have to know how the components behave and interact. What an excellent opportunity to dig into the code and get the answers you need.
Don't forget to take the notes!
I'll be honest with you. I hate writing tests. It's tedious, time-consuming, and we don't see the immediate value of it. But don't underestimate the significance of testing. Next time you'll get a weird issue from production that an app crashes every time a user drinks a coke (real story read on Quora 😂 ), you'll think, oh my, I could've caught the issue during the dev testing!

Any plans for the weekend? My plans is to get through the optional reading material on the DOM and event listeners listed on The Odin Project, there is soooo much information on this, so might as well get it down😤 I really can't get these event listeners to stick, but hoping with a little more practice we'll be nailing them🤙 Little side note, my wallpaper is from one of my favorite kids movies the iron giant, great movie if you need something to watch this weekend 🍿☺️ Also totally didn't get new setup swag, because the wires were driving me nuts 🙄🤣 Hope you have a splendid weekend! 🍻 ✌️ @nyd3lig ✌️ ~~~ #learnjs #learningprogramming #peopleintech #codepeople #learningtocode #frontenddevelopment #codenewbie #programmingislife #learncoding #programmingstudents #codingfun #learnprogramming #javaprogramming #programing #peoplewhocode #100daysofcode #learntocode #setups #codingisfun #coderlife #programmerslife #coders #creativespace #educateyourself #program #js #newbie #setup

CSS Grid Layout ✅ One of the main reasons I love coding so much is because of the precise and clean lines one can create. A well aligned, crisp layout makes me giddy. I will literally geek out over how well something lines up 😅🤣 Until there is awareness of how well (or not so well! ) websites are laid out, one might not see beauty and thought that went into the design and execution. ✨ #codecollect #codepeople #worldcode #peoplewhocode #frontendwebdeveloper

There's nothing wrong with working out your algorithms on paper first📝Not so much for everyday coding, but for more complex algorithms. Some programmers work them out on paper or a whiteboard all the time, especially if a graphical format makes it more clear👩🏼‍💻 If you want to get better at designing algorithms at a computer, there is a technique you can practice: ▪️Don't just start by writing out the code, write the same things you would put on paper as comments, then expand it into real code or more detailed comments one by one. I use this technique quite often, what about you❓

Code review 🧐⠀ ⠀ One of the underrated parts of progressing at being a developer is having your pull requests reviewed by another developer.⠀ ⠀ It's also important to remember to criticise the code and not criticise the developer! Far too often people can feel attacked when their code is reviewed, but at the end of the day, it's all for producing better code and becoming a better developer 🙌🏽🙌🏽⠀ ⠀ How often do you review pull requests or have you pull requests reviewed?⠀ ⠀ Also, yes I'm aware I haven't posted in a minute, but life comes at you quick 🙃 ⠀ ⠀ #quiaponcodes

Flow state 🌊 . What is a flow state? It's basically being in the zone. Where you're fully immersed into whatever you're doing and completely focused on that task. Most importantly, to achieve the flow state, you actually need to enjoy what you're doing! 😁 . Achieving your flow state is all about finding your triggers 🔫 . What works best for me is setting clear and defined goals that I do by using personal Trello that I use for task tracking and visually seeing myself tick the boxes on the checklist ✅ Seeing the progression gets me into my flow state 🔥 . Have you been in a flow state? What are your triggers? . I recommend checking out a video that I've linked in my bio to find out more 😉 . #quiaponcodes

[023/100] Hello😎 I hope your weekend is going well🙌🏻 Today is short but important things. Think mobile first?🤔 Mobile First means designing for mobile before designing for desktop or any other device (This will make the page display faster on smaller devices ). Responsive design is one of the most important parts of CSS in the modern web. Today I learned CSS media queries. The @media CSS at-rule can be used to apply part of a style sheet based on the result of one or more media queries. With it, you specify a media query and a block of CSS to apply to the document if and only if the media query matches the device on which the content is being used. Do you start create for mobile first or desktop devices? Lemme know⬇️

Learn anything FAST ⚡⠀ ⠀ Lately I've been listening to a lot of @jimkwik 's content and love his method of learning anything quickly⠀ ⠀ He uses the acronym F.A.S.T. to make it easy to remember 🙌🏽⠀ ⠀ F - Forget 🤯⠀ Forget everything you already know about the subject. Your mind is like a parachute; it only works when it's open. Forget about anything that's not urgent or important (no multi-tasking, be present ) Lastly, forget about your limitations. Don't exhibit the belief that you're terrible at remembering things or a slow reader etc.⠀ ⠀ A - Active 🏃🏽‍♂️⠀ We learn best by creating information and being active in the process. Learning is not a spectator sport. Be an active learner by asking questions and taking notes 🗣️📝⠀ ⠀ S - State 😬⠀ Your state is basically your emotional well-being. Information combined with emotion becomes a long-term memory. Improve your state by changing your posture/breathing or thinking about how you'll benefit from the information. Choose joy, fascination and curiosity.⠀ ⠀ T - Teach 👩🏽‍🏫⠀ Learn with the intention of teaching it to somebody else. If you had to teach it to somebody, you'd learn it differently and ensure you have a strong grasp of all the content.⠀ ⠀ Check out the link in my bio for a full 57 minute video where @jimkwik breaks down each step even further 🦾⠀
